Derived from Severo Calzetta da Ravenna’s famous 16th century Paduan Sea Monster, this serpentine hybrid receives an raw modern transformation by Damian Ardestani and the Surrealium atelier. Precision 3D printed and hand painted in multiple media layers, the piece captures a dark, unyielding depth across its coiled tail, tulip fin, and furrowed facial grimace. The interplay of smooth resin finish and textured scaling creates a grounded physical weight, translating a classic Renaissance marvel into a heavy sculptural entity for a shadowed interior.
