• Dragon headed fish sculpture reared head down, scaled body with spined back and raised split tail

Dragonfish Sculpture

Sculpted by Damian Ardestani and the Surrealium atelier, this piece is a formidable revival of a late 18th century Edo period Japanese work. Caught mid plunge, head down, spined fins flare as its tail points skyward, honoring the ancient sea monster that guarded rooftops against fire and flame.

The surface reads like aged bronze, dark through the body and coppery along every raised edge, giving the piece an otherworldly weight. Recast into a modern sculptural entity, the rain conjuring talisman was carefully reconstructed through 3D modeling, precision printing, weighted plaster filling, and layered hand paint work. The result bridges 18th century myth with a commanding modern stance.
