Item 13 Kimono

Item 13 is a long kimono robe cut from a custom-made cotton fabric with Renaissance patterns revived on textile. It dresses an eccentric aristocrat, half medieval, half modern, pulling Florence toward Tokyo. The palette runs burnt orange through terracotta and dusky brown, warm and faded to a soft antique glow.

Velvet faces the collar, the front band and the deep hip pockets, opulent against the printed ground. Wide bell sleeves fall from the shoulder and a self tie belt draws it in.
