Getting here
By ferry: Take the ferry from Vaxholm’s harbor, or Stockholm's Harbor (Slussen or Strömkajen) directly to Vaxholms Fortress (Vaxholms Kastell).
The journey takes just a few minutes from Vaxholm, and around one hour from Stockholm's inner city. Ferries run regularly.
By car or bus: Travel to Vaxholm, approximately 45 minutes from Stockholm. Park or disembark at the harbor, then take the ferry to Kastellet.

Surrealium resides within The Guard—the original fortified outpost at the sea gate of Vaxholm Fortress, surrounded by the Nordic waters of Sweden’s Stockholm archipelago. Here, you can schedule a private visit to our boutique, atelier, and artistic laboratory.
TORPET ARTIST RETREAT
Just a short distance across the sea from Vaxholm Fortress lies TORPET—Surrealium’s secluded artist retreat, accessible only by boat. Nestled on a quiet island, this 3,000-square-meter haven spans classic red cabins and old boat sheds. It hosts a casting foundry, atelier, recording studio, and guest quarters for visiting creatives. A sanctuary for the curious and the visionary.
